Fall 2024 Retreat
We are pleased to announce plans for RCQG’s first annual sewing retreat, November 25 – 29, 2024. This five day/four night event offers attendees distraction-free sewing. Retreat staff will prepare meals and an evening snack (including clean-up!) beginning with lunch on Monday and ending with lunch on Friday.
We will open registration to non-RCQG members on April 15, 2024.

I am looking forward to the retreat, but I will need a break from sewing all day. Is there anything else to do?
Yes! This is a great opportunity to socialize with other quilters, so you might walk around the room to see what everyone is working on. The room we are sewing in has couches, so you can take a break, sit back and hand stitch, read or just relax. Take a stroll through the grounds of the retreat centre, they are beautiful. Or, if you feel like a shopping opportunity, visit the local quilt stores in New Hamburg: Heart N Home and Quilting By Design.
I have special dietary needs. Can these be accommodated?
We will ask registrants about dietary restrictions closer to the actual event. The caterer requires at least two weeks notice so they can do their best to accommodate any special dietary needs (eg. food allergies).
I have a walker / difficulty with stairs / wheelchair or other accessibility requirements.
Hidden Acres Retreat Centre has fully accessible facilities. Once you have registered, the Retreat Organizers will contact you. Please let them know your accessibility requirements.
I have paid the deposit, when is the balance due?
The final non-refundable payment of $400 for shared rooms and $459 for a single room, is due September 1, 2024.
My sewing machine and projects are packed and ready to go! Do I need to bring anything else?
All participants will need to bring sheets, towels and pillowcases. Pillows and blankets are provided.
I registered but I’m now unable to attend. Is a refund available?
Deposits and full retreat payments are non-refundable, but they can be transferred to someone else should an emergency arise that requires you to cancel your attendance. We will try to help you find someone interested in purchasing your spot.
