This workshop will focus on adding depth, light, shadow and texture to your work.  Through collage, in all its forms from freezer paper to minute confetti, Mary will demonstrate some shortcuts that will give you more control, making it possible to add warmth and realism by pre-constructing and pre-finishing your background.  This workshop is FULL.

Painless Paper Piecing – Ruth Kennedy @ Three Willows United Church

 Who doesn’t want paper piecing to be painless?  Ruth will lead you through the construction of a New York Beauty Block using the ‘painless’ method of paper piecing where you do not have to rip out the paper.  The finished block can be made into a cushion (see sample) or add more blocks and make a quilt.  Pattern fee is included in the cost of the workshop.

Come and hear Celeste talk about her passion with the cloth of South Africa.  Through her projects and travel tales Celeste will give us a history of this wonderful fabric and how it defined a people and how it used in culture.  Celeste’s love for this fabric and history is quite evident in how passionate she talks about this fabric and wants to bring it to the rest of the world.

 Do you have lots of stuff around your sewing machine, on your cutting table or just about anywhere in your sewing space?  Then this workshop is for you.  Learn to make Pockets to Go which is a sewing organizer to contain all those nifty tools and accessories all quilters must have.  Learn Jackie’s shortcuts and tips throughout the construction of your Pockets to Go.  There is a $20 kit fee which includes the pattern, interfacing and PelTex, payable to the instructor.
